The A Star in the Sea box set is a rare and deeply personal collaboration between my mother and me, an artist-to-artist dialogue shaped through fabric, touch and memory. Conceived as an intimate extension of the book, each box is wrapped in handmade Batik fabric created by my mother, transforming every edition into a unique work of art.

About the Box Set

The A Star in the Sea box set is a rare, hand-crafted edition that extends the intimacy of the book into a unique artistic object. Wrapped in Batik fabric handmade by my mother, each box becomes a collaboration across generations, a merging of gesture, craft and memory. Contained within is one of the 26 original Polaroids from the series, making every set a singular constellation of image, touch and story.

A Collaboration Across Generations

This edition grew from a quiet dialogue between mother and daughter: two artists working side by side, allowing fabric and photograph to weave together their shared sensibilities. The handmade Batik coverings carry my mother’s patterns and rhythms; the book and Polaroids my photographs. Together, they create an heirloom object rooted in tenderness, lineage and artistic trust. No two box sets are alike, each one its own universe shaped by love and care.
