For those who aren’t ready to commit to the four-month Lab, the Brighton Lab Weekender offers a concentrated entry point into the same ideas and working methods. Held at POST Creatives in Brighton, these weekends are designed as focused intensives where photographers can step away from the noise of everyday life and give their work serious attention.
Includes:
• two intensive studio days
• editing and sequencing sessions
• guest artist conversations
• small group critique
Confirmed Guests:
Simon Roberts
Landscape, proximity and photographing close to home. A conversation on working with place and the subtle politics of landscape.
Nina Emmett
Beyond the image. A session on curation, context and the life of a photographic project once it leaves the studio.
Jessica van der Weert
Working with people. From first encounter to final image, exploring trust, collaboration and photographing with care.
Josh Redfearn
Working in the darkroom. An introduction to analogue process and large-format experimentation, exploring how the physical act of making a photograph can shape the final image.
Harry Hardie
Bookmaking as process. Thinking through editing, sequencing and how photographic work finds form as a physical object.
These sessions are designed to be practical, conversational and reflective, offering participants the chance to engage directly with different ways of thinking about photographic practice.
