Laura El-Tantawy is a photographer from Cairo, Egypt. She studied journalism and political science at the University of Georgia and started her career as a newspaper photographer with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel & Sarasota Herald-Tribune. She is currently a journalism fellow at the University of Oxford in England researching free speech in Egyptian media. She is affiliated with Corbis and Africa Pictures photographic agencies. El-Tantawy lives between Cairo and London.
