INSTITUTIONAL WORK: 2009 TEATRO LA FENICE, Italy

This body of work was produced on commission for the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Italy. The theatre is one of Italy's finest and Europe's most famous Opera venues. It has twice been burnt and rebuilt, trying to stay true to its original architectural design.

The focus of my work in the last year has been strictly on women, and this work is an extension of my exploration on women. This is a series showing the women who work inside one of Venice's major historical and cultural icons. Out of the theatre's almost 315 employees, this is a series inspired by the sensuality, the melody and the fire of Italian Opera.
